The theme of my exhibition
of sculptures, "InterAction", which I created in the past 6
months (June 2003), is my response to the preponderance of evil which enjoys so much attention in the media. I feel that the interaction between people demonstrating goodwill, man helping fellow man, people risking their lives for others and the many good deeds which ordinary people perform, often in a humble and unselfish way, should be acknowledged and extolled.
Initially I did not set out with any preconceived ideas or themes. I followed my creative instinct until I had reached an indefinable moment when the central theme of what I was doing gradually begun to emerge and manifest itself. From that point onwards I was lead intuitively to the completion of the series.
I hope my exhibition will inspire viewers to recognise the fundamental nobility of people and the empathy that does exist between human beings of all races and creeds in our country.
